These are bumps seen in the face and other parts of the body, which is caused by clogged pores and inflammation of the oil gland that is known as the sebaceous gland. This is the gland that secretes oil or sebum to maintain the natural balance of the skin but when it produces excessive amount of oil and was mixed with dirt and dead skin it will result to whiteheads and blackheads.
There are many known causes of acne; like diet, poor hygiene, heredity, stress. And hormonal imbalance contributes to this problem. It does not necessarily mean that keeping your face clean by washing it frequently will make it bacteria free.
You have to make your surrounding and personal things clean like your bed sheets, pillow cases and linens; there can be dirt and other bacteria that you might pick up and will cause more breakouts.

Also avoid creams and cosmetics that are greasy especially those that have oil contents. Food allergies are also known to cause the worse cases of acne. Drinking a minimum of 6 to 8 glasses of water daily will boost the functioning of your body systems and especially your skin. While having a diet high in glycemic carbohydrates and foods high in refined sugar will increase the sets of hormonal changes which results to high risk of acne.
By staying away from foods high in trans-fatty acids like milk, dairy products, chips, cookies, chocolate, hydrogenated products, margarine and shortening will also keep you away from having acne. Hormonal changes are the primary causes of acne.
These changes occur at puberty and usually end in the early adulthood. One week before women's menstrual period they often get acne while men increased androgen that causes their oil glands to enlarge and produces too much oil and sebum, this will clogged pores and acne occurs.
For women, birth control pills are known cause of acne. You can consult your doctor for another birth control pill or simply try another one. Other causes of acne are stress, toxicity, sun exposure, seasonal changes, and also from caffeinated drinks.
Simply follow this prevention and treatment program you can stay away from acne.
-Start by having a cleansing diet to detoxify and to eliminate impurities from your system, by drinking plenty of water and fresh fruit juices.
-Cleanse your skin by washing twice daily with a special soap that will keep your face from dirt and bacteria, also apply an antiseptic product that is right for your skin type.
-Stay away from foods high in glycemic carbohydrates and foods high in refined sugar that triggers acne.
-Try to check if you are allergic to certain foods and cosmetics. And stay away from them.
-Have a healthy diet by eating high fiber diet and low fat foods.
-Take a supplement that promotes healthy skin.
